Whispery wind blew through the trees high above, whipping away weak leaves that had already given up their shades of green and merged and dappled with different tones of brown, red, yellow, and orange. The golden spray of leaves swirled in curls high above the head of a tiny orange and white dog working below. Omega rolled a huge bunch of moss under his two front paws, pummeling it and turning it expertly. Once he was satisfied, he ran away from the pile and rolled more moss towards the first log. Sighing heavily, he looked up at the sky. He felt exhausted and envious, and in nee of a bite of food. The prey pile was heavy and rich with delicious bounties. A small trampled field mouse laid out next to the scene, ripped and dusty. His triangular pricked ears fell in disappointment. He knew that would be all that was left for him. Bitter resentment filled his belly. He hated eating last! Being every dogs servant. He felt rebellious. Suddenly, he felt movement in his legs and he barely realized that he was running to the prey pile. Sneaking around the back, he felt his jaws ready to clamp on a duck.....

The breeze outside was not really a bother for Birch. Some leaves were on the ground and to her they were all something she could play with. After batting away at them for a while she was tired but at the same time still full with energy. Her fluffy coat had some leaves and dirt caught up in it. Looking at the kill pile she did feel the need to get something to eat and she had plenty of choice. Some Hunting dogs had been and brought back somethings which were quite interesting to her. Some small mice, rabbits and birds with long necks. Trotting towards the pile she payed little attention to who and what was around her. Her eyes were set on a duck, it's feathers would be something fun to play with after she had eaten. Her tiny jaw clamped down onto the duck. Suddenly her eyes set upon the duck and her ears raised to face forwards as the duck was heavier tha she thought it might be. Looking forward it was Omega.

Omega froze, caught in the act as he gazed into the eyes of the tiny pup Birch. She was reaching for the same duck as him and he knew very well she had more of a right to it than him. "I-I-I'm so sorry! H-H-Here." he nudged the goose to her. "Take it!"

Birch had little understanding of the ranks, apart from Alpha and Beta, She was confused by his easily submissive attitude to the food. Still, she grabbed it and then dragged it on the floor to where she could take it somewhere else. The small fluffy pup was still curious by him, she had never spoke to him before or really seen him. Stumbling a bit over the food she was dragging, she made her way over to a spot not far from Omega. Dropping it on the ground she then looked at him and tilted her head. " Thank you " She said happily still looking at him. He seemed nice enough to give her the goose instead of just taking it.

Omega blinked in confusion. The little pup clearly didn't know much about ranks, or she would've bitten him already. Omega sat down and scratched his ear, then shook his fur and turned away again. "No worries." he mumbled. Reaching out with a paw, he grabbed a lump of moss and shreds of bedding and dragged it across the clan dutifully. He sighed once he could drop his burden inside the nursery to clean it.

Birch didn't really eat much of the bird. She had her fill and instead finished it off by chucking it around causing feathers to fly and land everywhere around her wherever she threw the creature. With the feathery ragged bird in her mouth she looked at Omega and watched what he was doing with her ears stood up. Keeping her light blue eyes locked onto his movement she was unsure of what he was doing. Dropping the bird immediately to see what he was up to she tumbled after him. Tilting her head she watched him " What are you doing? " He had a bit of moss with him and that only meant something to play with and throw around. Some feathers were still stuck on her mouth from earlier but she didn't really notice.

Omega turned to face the pup. "I'm rolling moss so I can re-make your nests." he responded curtly. He was anxious to get back to work, and he picked up the ball again and plopped it inside the nursery again. A tiny scrap of moss fell away from the pile as it hit the ground. With a mischievous grin, he flicked the moss expertly with a paw. It smacked satisfyingly on her nose and broke into a pile of moss powder at her paws.

Birch folded her ears back for a small second at the dog's response to her question, why did he have to be so rude about it? She carried on watching with interest on his activity. Her light blue eyes fixed onto a small bit of moss that had fallen from the pile that he was carrying. Taking little notice of Omega she suddenly felt her face take a light hit of that moss ball she was watching into her face and then to her paws. Her fur was now a contrast of leaves and bits of moss. Her face held a surprised look at first but Birch saw this as a playful gesture and laughed after a few seconds of looking at him in disbelief. " Hey! " She barked and then threw herself towards him in a playful manor as she barked even more.

Omega rolled as the tiny pup landed on him. He laid under her, grinning, but didn't move in case he hurt the little paw. In an exaggerated gesture, he flipped his paw up and down vainly, as if he was going to grab more moss. "Oh no!" he laughed. "I can't finish my very important task!" he barked gleefully.
