Branch looked at Coal. "Want to see what happens when we find an intruder Coal?" He looked at him with a smirk and a slight wag of his tail.

Coal swerved his ear to the side. he would like to see what does happen, he looked at Branch and met his eye line and then it hit him. He was slow to react though and he knew what he was going to do, that smirk was not something meaning 'good' in his eyes.He dropped the turkey to speak " Uhhhhh " He hesitated looking at Branch.

Barking, Branch blasted into Coals front left leg, throwing him off balance and jumping under him just in time to leap out from under his front right leg. With a kick, Branch thrust his back paws into Coals right side, Sending Coal sprawling in the grass. "Hah! Got you!" he yipped gleefully. Jumping over Coal, he sprinted away with a flourish of his tail.

Coal skidded on the ground trying to not fall and then to a final stop as he rolled over a bit and fell in the grass on his side. He sat up a little to lay on his front and shook his head to get the dirt off. Breathing quickly he looked at Branch like he had just scared him, and frankly he did even though he wasn't expecting it. " Okay, that is the second time you have tackled me today " First when he came running at him and now this both ended up with him on the ground. He got up to his paws, front legs first then back. " uhhh, why is it always the side? " he coughed as he spoke to himself. He felt like he had been tackled by a cow more than a dog that is smaller and younger than him. Gosh, what did they turn him into? he sure is one hell of a patrol dog. " Right, noted not to mess with you " he chuckled as he looked at Branch yipping and jumping around. " I know, it was hilarious " He said sarcastically as he looked away and shook his head.

Branch chuckled, "You looked like a weird flower!" Tipping his head sympathetically to the hunt dog. "Don't worry, it'll wear off soon." he looked around. "The border is looking okay so far, lets take a break." he sat on his haunches and licked the grit from in between his pads. "Sometimes the rock chips get lodged in between my paws." he looked over at Coals paws. "Maybe you should check your paws too, Coal."

Coal looked at him embarrassed that he was apparently looking like a 'weird flower' when he fell. " Well, i was called Tumble when i was a pup for a reason " He pointed out. His parents even made fun of him whenever he fell, how embarrassing is that? they still loved him though. He sat down and watched what Branch was doing. After he advised him to look at his paws he soon checked. Coal sometimes got stones stuck i his paws whenever he was hunting but he rarely did. He mainly hunted in the forest areas or the grass land parts where there were little stones. He had some in his paw and took some stones out with his teeth but one was still stuck so he shook his paw frantically and finally got it to edge itself out. He then moved his head up to look at Branch " Since we're on a small break you wanna fight for a bit? " he smirked. He missed this sort of thing as he never really got to do it anymore. Even if he did in camp someone would give him a weird look for acting like a 'pup'.

" You're on " He said and didn't crouch like his friend but instead turned to the side and watched him. What was he doing? he didn't have a clue how to fight but only against an animal like a cow or something like that. He just had to pretend that Branch was a cow, but smarter and quicker and better. oh well, he can't back down, that would just be pointless. Knowing Branch he would probably still fight him anyway. He suddenly charged at Branch like a bull " Ahhhhhh" He shouted a war cry. He was running at full speed and his head low so he could headbutt Branch or at least knock him over.

Branch yelped. With a skip, he hopped out of the way of his head in just enough time so the blow only grazed his shoulder. But it was enough, and he skidded on the rocky ground. He flopped on the ground and scrambled to his paws again.

Coal skidded to a halt. he was happy to see that he had actually hit his friend, as horrible as that sounds, he wasn't that bad at fighting at least. He skidded to a halt and then turned to face him again. " Ahaa gotcha! " he barked to him. He wagged his tail and smiled with his tongue out panting.

Coal smiled when Branch gave in. " Looks like i'm better at figh-Oh no! " His face turned from joy into a worried expression. " The turkey! " He barked. Before Branch knocked him over he dropped the turkey somewhere. He couldn't remember though, he didn't want another predator to get it or another pack member to see in case they smell the turkey and then see them not doing their jobs but instead messing about and fighting. He turned to sniff the ground and look for it.

Branch sighed with a smirk. Kindheartedly, he offered. "Let me. Scenting is what I do." Snuffling along the ground, he looked up. "I think there's something here.. But it kind of smells like fox."

He darted his head straight up, ears facing forward, as he looked for his friend. He could see him not far away from him and he could smell something too. ' Oh for god sake' He thought to himself. He really hoped that a fox hadn't gotten to the turkey. He trotted over quickly and followed his friend as he tracked for the smell. " i'm just putting it out there that i have training in tracking too " he said quietly. He was slightly jealous of Branch that he basically had training in nearly everything, and even if he did have some training in tracking, he was always better at it. He sniffed the air as well, two noses were better than one.

Branch frowned. He could sense the hostility in Coals tone. He might be a good tracker, but he was a lousy hunter. In his entire life, he hadn't caught a thing. And even though he was trained in combat, he was definitely on the no-win situation if a dog larger than himself came along when he was alone. Coal was trained as a Wild dog, and would be merciful. But most lone dogs were driven mad by hunger or illness. He shuddered, and a sick fox was no better. He fell in behind Coal and let him lead the way.
